Things to do
- Water hanging baskets and tubs daily
- Border Carnations can be pegged and layered to form new plants. Simply cut the stem of a none flowering shoot at a joint, and peg it down on the soil
- Iris tend to spread a little, and a small clump can spread quite alot over the years. Reduce the size of the clump by simply digging them up. Remove the rhizomes, cut the foliage back to about five inches, fan out and replant. Make sure that the rhizome rests on the soil when it is replanted
- Feed and top dress window boxes, tubs and hanging baskets
- Deah head any flowers in a floral display to prolong a good display
- Colchicums are more commonly known as Autumn Crocus or Naked ladies. Colchicums produce pink, purple or white flowers from September through to October
