You will need:
2 lb blackberries (1 Quart)
1 pint white vinegar
2 lbs sugar
1½ oz allspice
½ oz ground ginger
How to make Blackberry Pickle:
Sprinkle the ginger over the blackberries and leave to steep for 12 hours. Bring the vinegar to the boil and add the blackberries and sugar. Stir well and boil for 30 minutes. Leave to cool and add the allspice. Mix well and place into sterilised jars and seal well.
A delicious treat to have with a ploughmans lunch.
