You will need:
Potatoes (Maris Piper or King Edwards)
Butter
Salt and Pepper
Single Cream
How to make Creamy Mashed Potato:
Peel the potatoes, cut into quarters, making sure that all the pieces are evenly sized. Place into a large saucepan with just enough water to cover them, and a pinch of salt. Boil for approximately 15-20 mins (or until soft and fluffy). Take off the stove and drain until completely free from water. Place in a large bowl, add a pinch of salt and pepper and single cream. Using an electric whisk, whisk on low until the potatoes start to break up, then whisk on a higher setting. Add a generous knob of best butter and whisk again. Serve immediately.
There are so many recipes for creamy mashed potatoes, for a few variations why not add a vegetable stock cube to the water when boiling the potatoes? Or use creme fraiche instead of the single cream for a healthier alternative.
